May We Be
I have loved and recited this prayer for years, and it has worked in every season of my life. I adapted it from Buddha's meditation on loving-kindness. Our family prays this before our meals, and it also serves as a sweet surprise at lunch with friends, for a toast, or at any ceremony or celebration. I offer it to you:
May we be free from fear.
May we be liberated and glad hearted.
May we be a friend of our bodies and thoughts.
May we live with ease and well-being.
Sometimes we say "Amen," sometimes we say "Pura Vida."
